Back to Nuneaton Update: Lease Agreed In Principle

Nuneaton Town FC are pleased to announce that a 49 year lease has been approved in principle by Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council cabinet for Vale View (or an alternative location) for a ground for the football club.

We would like to thank all who were involved in making this happen - the Council officers & cabinet, the Nuneaton Town Supporters Co-Operative, volunteers and community who have raised thousands over the last 18 months to ensure our club can play in its home town once again, and we are looking forward to taking the next steps to bring football back to Nuneaton.

What has been agreed?

The Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Cabinet have agreed in principle to grant at 49 year lease to Nuneaton Town FC for for Vale View or another location. This represents an important step towards bringing Nuneaton Town FC home and creating a community facility that will support local sport, learning, and wellbeing for generations to come.

The planned development will also become the base for our 38 junior boys’ and girls’ teams, involving over 350 young players, and will facilitate the revival of a senior women’s team, ensuring opportunities for all to play and progress within the game.

This will also involve close collaboration with The Ford Community Centre, helping extend its capabilities and enhance the services available to local residents.

What happens now?

The club will now move to the next phase of the project which will involve:

  • Working towards submitting a planning application, such as site assessments, consultations with local authorities, community consultation with local organisations and residents.

  • Continuing fundraising efforts through the Back to Nuneaton Fund as well as exploring fund application options.

  • Continued work with Birmingham County FA and consulting with The Football Foundation.
