Darren and Russ sign new two-year contracts

Nuneaton Town Football Club are delighted to confirm that Joint Managers Russell Dodd and Darren Acton have signed new two year contracts with the club, committing their futures to Nuneaton Town through until the end of the 2027/28 season.

The agreement secures the future of the management team that has helped drive one of the most successful periods in the club’s recent history, delivering back to back promotions, silverware, and helping reconnect the football club with its supporters and wider community.

Since taking charge, Russell and Darren have overseen remarkable progress both on and off the pitch, helping to build a side that reflects the values of Nuneaton Town FC. Their leadership, work ethic, and commitment to the club’s long term vision have played a huge role in the momentum currently surrounding the football club.

Importantly, the contracts also provide stability and continuity across the football club as the board continues to work towards its “Back to Nuneaton” project. With the management team secured through to the end of the 2027/28 campaign, the board can continue focusing its efforts on building the foundations needed to bring the club home and secure a sustainable future for generations to come.

Speaking on the new agreements, Chair Ian Cook said:

“Russ and Darren have been outstanding for this football club. What they have achieved together in a relatively short period of time deserves enormous credit.

Beyond the promotions and results, they have helped create an identity and culture that supporters can connect with again. They understand what this football club means to people and they have embraced that from day one.

Awarding them new contracts was an easy decision for the board. Their commitment through to the end of the 2027/28 season gives the football club real stability and allows the board to continue pushing forward with our wider plans and ambitions, including our long term goal of bringing Nuneaton Town back home.”

Joint Manager Russ Dodd added:

“We’re both delighted to commit our futures to the football club. There is a real togetherness around Nuneaton Town at the moment and that comes from everyone pulling in the same direction.

The supporters, sponsors, volunteers, board, staff and players have all played a massive part in what has been achieved so far and we feel there is still plenty more to come.”

Darren Acton said:

“This club means a lot to both of us. We know the expectations that come with managing Nuneaton Town, but we thrive on that responsibility.

We’ve built strong foundations over the last couple of years and we’re hungry to keep progressing and pushing the club forward.”

Everyone at Nuneaton Town FC would like to congratulate Russ and Darren on their new agreements and we look forward to continuing the journey together.
