Home James - Armson Arrives
Nuneaton Town FC are pleased to announce that James Armson has joined the club from National League North side AFC Telford United.
After developing in the Nuneaton Borough youth team, the midfielder progressed into the first team and onto Nuneaton Town FC in 2008. An eight year stint saw Armson make over 300 appearances and score 47 goals helping Town achieve three promotions to reach the National League before making the move to Solihull Moors in 2015.
Armson helped the Moors to earn promotion by winning the National League North, and then decided to link back up with former manager Kevin Wilkin at Brackley Town for the 2016/17 season. This proved to be yet another success, amassing 344 appearances and scoring 95 goals, including a hat trick against Gillingham in the FA Cup and being a part of the 2018 FA Trophy winning side. During this time James would also be part of a side that finished runners up in the National League North Playoffs on four occasions.
At the end of his eight year spell at Brackley, he made the switch to AFC Telford United to once again join Kevin Wilkin for yet another successful season winning the playoffs and returning Telford to the National League North.
Joint managers Darren Acton and Russell Dodd said, "We are delighted that Jimmy has agreed to join the club. Obviously a previous fans favourite, we are sure his ability and experience will help us during our step up to the new league. Jimmy has had a brilliant career, that can continue with helping Nuneaton try and progress up the leagues. Welcome Jimmy!"
James himself found it hard to put his excitement into words telling the media team "I’m excited to be back and I can’t wait to see some old faces and new!".
Welcome home, Jimmy!
