JUST ANOTHER YEAR FOR VETERAN MARSDEN

Player coach Justin Marsden has agreed terms to remain with Nuneaton Town for this season.

The 41 year old who first played for the former Nuneaton Town as a youngster in 2008, was instrumental in providing experience, and some memorable goals to boot, as the team won the Midland League Division 1 at the first attempt.

He was subbed on 26 times last season, 12 times more than any other player last season, which showed the trust Darren and Russ had in Justin to change games or help see them out in the latter stages, so he remains a valuable asset to the playing side as well as helping get the best out of his teammates from the bench and in training.

Justin added 'Very happy and grateful to be given the opportunity to stay at this football club for the foreseeable future. Football has always been and still is a very big part of my life and I have always enjoyed my time here where the fans have always been good to me, long may it continue. I’m going into my 25th season in non league, so why stop when you are enjoying every minute of it? Last season was a fantastic achievement for the group and everyone involved with the club and I’m really excited for what the same group of players (with the new additions) can achieve next season. Really looking forward to the challenge and can’t wait to get started.'

Speaking about Justin's return, joint manager Darren Acton commented “It’s great to get Justin back for the forthcoming season. His experience on the pitch and knowledge of the game will be a massive asset, not only to our squad but also to the coaching team. We’re confident he’ll play a key role both in the dressing room and on the touchline as we continue to push forward this season”.

Welcome back Justin!
