Local 16 year old student Rose Greenfield has combined her love of art and football to draw the much-missed Cock and Bear stand from Manor Park.
Rose has gifted her artwork to the club as a donation to support the Back to Nuneaton campaign.
After achieving a Grade 9 in GCSE Art, Rose has recently started a Fine Art course at NWSLC. She has done numerous football related drawings and paintings but it was the Back to Nuneaton story explained to her by a family friend that gave her the inspiration to draw something to connect the Club back to its roots and heritage. From looking at photographs and listening to memories of the significance of the Cock and Bear Stand her subject piece was chosen.
“The drawing took around 24 hours to complete and I am really happy with the outcome” said Rose. “The response I have received from the club has been really nice and I am glad to be able to bring back some memories for fans who haven’t seen the old ground for over twenty years” she added.
Such has been the positive feedback, the Supporters Co-operative have made 50 prints available to buy for £15.00 with over 50% of the price going directly to the Back to Nuneaton fund, and the rest going to Rose. As for the original artwork, this will take pride of place at the new ground, when we get there!
We’d like to thank Rose for her work and wish her well in the future.
