This really needs no introduction does it? When these two were put together on Easter weekend back on fixture release day both teams knew it would be a big fixture. But who knew just what a massive game this would turn out to be? Local rivals Nuneaton Town and Atherstone Town meet on Saturday with a league title on the line. It's one of the most important games in a decades long rivalry between the two North Warwickshire sides.
Nuneaton Town sit just 2 points away from the title after 3 successive draws, but with the Adders now the only side that can prevent the United Counties League Premier South title heading their way, they know just another draw will be enough, with Atherstone needing to win to delay the title celebrations until at least Easter Monday.
A draw also seems one of the most likely results, as both sides have a long unbeaten run going. Atherstone are unbeaten in 12 (9 wins 3 draws) since being thrashed 5-1 by Coventry United in January which has propelled them into second, the last of which was a 2-1 win at Leicester Nirvana. While Nuneaton's was extended to 18 (14 wins 4 draws) with Tuesday's point in Cambridgeshire.
Earlier in the season a UCL season high crowd of 1290, including hundreds from Nuneaton, saw the away side make a comeback through Kyle Jardine and Eesa Sawyers, after Lewis Collins gave the Adders a half time lead at Sheepy Road.
