About our opponents:
Boston FC were formed in 1964 by officials concerned that Boston United were in danger of folding due to financial issues. They flew through the Lincolnshire League and Central Alliance Leagues in their first attempts, before joining the Eastern Counties League, and then moving to the Midland League in 1968. Boston won the Midland League in 1975 pipping local rivals Skegness Town to the title on the final day. They were renamed Boston Town FC in 1994, spending the majority of their time since in the United Counties League. Last season they won the United Counties League Premier DIvision North, beating long time leaders Sherwood Colliery to the line. They have reached the FA Cup first round once, losing to Barnsley in 1976-77, the FA Trophy second round once in 1979-80, and were FA Vase semi finalists in 1993-94. Former Premier League player Gary Bull, cousin of Steve Bull, joined the club at the age of 39, and by the time of retirement at 45 had scored 57 goals for the club, a club record that still stands.
