Nuneaton Town head into the home straight of pre-season, as they play their 7th of 8 games, as they host Coalville Town at The Oval.
4 wins and 2 losses has been a satisfactory return so far with plenty of goals scored, although there is room for improvement with no clean sheets so far.
Coalville Town have had a mixed bag of pre-season results so far, with a 4-2 home loss to Barwell, preceded by a 4-0 home loss to Carlton Town, a 3-2 loss at The Oval to Bedworth United, a 1-1 home draw with Shepshed Dynamo, a 3-0 away victory over Bolehall Swifts, and their 5-1 win over the reborn Leicester Road at the De Montfort Stadium back at the start of the month. Nuneaton will therefore be looking to inflict a 5th straight defeat against NPL Division 1 Midlands opposition.
Nuneaton will also be looking to improve on their last meeting with Coalville, a 5-1 thrashing at The Oval in the United Counties League Cup semi final last season, a result which would ultimately be meaningless as Coalville were later removed from the final after fielding an ineligible player. The final at Stamford ended with Moulton prevailing over Town in May.
Dangerman Ronnie Morley, who bagged 39 goals for Coalville last season (including 3 in that 5-1 win), remains with the side, who finished an eventual 4th in the United Counties League Division 1 standings after points deductions. Coalville would later lose a thrilling play off final at Retford United to remain in Step 6 for a 3rd season, where they make the switch to the Midland League Division 1.

About our opponents:
Coalville Town were formed in 1926 as Ravenstone Miners Athletic, the origin of their 'Ravens' nickname and their black and white stripes. They switched to their current name in 1995, and were promoted to the Midland Alliance for the first time in 2003. After reaching the FA Vase final in 2010-11 (losing 3-2 to Whitley Bay), they were promoted to Step 4 in 2012, and to Step 3 in 2016, joining the Southern League Premier Central. They remained there until 2024, when financial issues saw them drop down 3 leagues at the same time as Nuneaton Town. Unlike Nuneaton's double promotion, Coalville still remain at Step 6, but are one of the favourites for the league this season. They have played at Owen Street since the mid 90s, after moving from Ravenstone.
Coalville have reached the FA Cup first round twice, most recently in 2022-23 losing 4-1 at Charlton Athletic, and reached the FA Trophy Quarter Finals the following season, losing away at Macclesfield 3-0, their most recent season in the competition to date.
