Nuneaton Town finally return to The Oval on Tuesday night after 4 away games in 5, as they host local rivals Coleshill Town.

Fresh from progressing in the FA Cup with a 1-0 win at Rugby Borough that sets up a clash at Bromsgrove Sporting in the next round, Nuneaton return to league action hoping to gain a second win in four games.

Nuneaton come up against a side who have yet to score this season, albeit have only conceded 3 goals in 4 games so far. One of those saw them crash out of the FA Cup to last season's Midland League Division 1 champions Knowle. Coleshill have picked up just one point with a goalless draw, from three league games and sit in the bottom four of the table.

Nuneaton and Coleshill meet for the first time since the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round last season, in which Nuneaton fell just short in a 2-1 defeat, however will be looking to turn the tide with an improved squad this season. It's actually a first ever league meeting between the sides.

There have been several players who have played for both sides in recent years, current Coleshill squad members Cameron Belford, Tristan Dunkley, Alex Graham and Taylor Carter-Byrne have all featured for Nuneaton previously, and James Harrison featured for Coleshill after Nuneaton's season ended last season.

It's set to be another important night under the lights, head down to The Oval to back the lads!

About our opponents:

Established in 1885 as Coleshill & District, the first iteration of Coleshill Town played in local leagues. After World War I the team rebranded as Coleshill United, playing at the Memorial Ground before reverting back to Town, and moving to their current ground Pack Meadow in 1974. The move helped them progress up to the Midland Combination Premier Division, where they remained until 2000. After being relegated they were promoted back to the division in 2001, and finally won the league in 2008, where they were promoted to the Midland Alliance, which became the Midland League Premier. They had their best run in the FA Vase in 2016-17, losing in the semi finals to South Shields, and the following season were runners up in the Premier Division, earning promotion to Step 4 for the first time. They have settled well at this level, and narrowly missed out on the play offs last season on the final day, losing out to Racing Club Warwick who would go on to win promotion.

Current league position - 20th (0 wins, 1 draw, 2 defeats)
