Another pivotal month in Nuneaton Town's season begins on Saturday as the road to Wembley continues at GNG Oadby Town in the 3rd Round of the FA Vase.

Nuneaton Town navigated through a tricky and weather affected November still top of the table and still in two cup competitions, having not played an away game since the end of October at Northampton ON Chenecks. This Saturday, weather dependent, they make the short trip up the M69 to Leicester to face GNG Oadby Town, in a first visit to their new premises in Braunstone. It is in fact the first of 2 scheduled visits in 2 weeks, as the league trip there also takes place in the final match before Christmas.

GNG Oadby Town have got to this stage with a bit of fortune, having lost 6-1 at home to Clay Cross Town they were reinstated due to one of the Clay Cross Town substitutes being ineligible to play having played for another club in an earlier round. As such Oadby are playing in the third round for the first time in 13 years, and for the first time since their merger with GNG FC. They defeated Skegness Town 2-1 away, beat Ashby Ivanhoe on penalties after a 0-0 draw, in the rounds prior to that match with Clay Cross.

Oadby sit in 19th in the United Counties Premier Division South with 3 wins, 2 draws and 13 losses, and last time out had a thrilling 4-4 draw at home to Yaxley.

Nuneaton arrived at this stage with an 8-0 thrashing of Highgate United away, a battling 2-1 win at Step 6 high flyers Knowle, a penalty shootout win at Stafford Town after a 3-3 draw, and 2-1 win over Sandiacre Town at The Oval. They still remain top of the United Counties Premier South with 13 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats, and last time out earned a big 3 points against title rivals Aylestone Park, winning 4-2.

Can Nuneaton find another big performance to reach the last 32?
