Nuneaton Town make their debut in the United Counties League Knockout Cup on Saturday afternoon as they travel to face Godmanchester Rovers in the first meeting between the two sides.

Due to pitch issues 'Goddy' Rovers have yet to play a home game this season, and are unable to host the match on Saturday, so have agreed with nearby Yaxley FC to host the match there.

NB kick is at a later time of 5pm.

Godmanchester sit in 15th in Nuneaton's division with 2 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats from their opening 7 games, all away, whilst Nuneaton sit top of the table with 7 wins out of 7, and a 5 point lead after Moulton's Tuesday victory took them into 2nd.

History:

Goddy were formed in 1911 and played in the Huntingdonshire League for the majority of their early years before joining the Cambridgeshire League.

The club moved from their London Road ground to their current one in 2002, and were accepted to the Eastern Counties League, winning Division 1 10 years later. They have remained at Step 5 ever since, being transferred to the United Counties Premier South in 2021. They have won the Huntingdonshire Senior Cup and the Hinchingbrooke Cup twice each.

They finished bottom of the 19 teams in the league last season but were reprieved when Hinckley Leicester Road FC were liquidated post season, causing Rugby Town to be reprieved leaving a gap in the UCL South.
