Nuneaton Town aim to continue their unbeaten start to 2026 and close in further on the United Counties League Premier South title away at Yaxley on Saturday afternoon. With just 5 more wins at most required from 8 games left it's exciting times for Town fans once again.

Nuneaton extended their lead to a huge 20 points on Tuesday night as Stuart Hendrie's goal of the season contender capped off a 3-1 win at home to Northampton ON Chenecks, and haven't tasted defeat in any competition since December, an unbeaten run of 13 games.

The match might not have happened a month ago, as Yaxley were locked out of their ground temporarily, a feeling that Nuneaton fans know all too well, but luckily on this occasion the saga has had a happy ending, although Yaxley have suffered on the pitch which has resulted in some heavy defeats recently, and Saturday will be their first home game since 17th January.

Yaxley sit in 18th with 6 wins, 5 defeats and 18 losses, however they have lost their last 7 by an aggregate score of 27-3.

Nuneaton have played at Yaxley's ground already this season, as Godmanchester Rovers ground was out of use when Nuneaton played their UCL Cup game there in September. That was just 2 weeks after Nuneaton and Yaxley met for the first time, as a Declan Somel hattrick, plus goals from Callum Carsley, James Harrison and Kyle Jardine secured a 6-1 victory at The Oval, Nuneaton's joint largest league win this season.

With Coventry United in FA Vase action and both Atherstone and March facing tricky away ties on Saturday, it is further chance to put pressure on the chasing pack.
