Dante Delight Seals Emphatic Victory for Table Topping Town - Match Report: Nuneaton Town 3 Leicester Nirvana 0
By George Kirk
Nuneaton Town treated fans to a fifth home win on the bounce, as they put mid-table side Leicester Nirvana to the sword.
Following Kyle Jardine’s first half penalty miss, Town showed no mercy in the way they dispatched of Nirvana, with Aaron Williams, Charlie Jones and Dante Hesson all finding the back of the net.
Boro limited the Leicestershire outfit to very limited chances, showing no room for error as Brandon Bache earned his ninth clean sheet of the season, sending Acco and Doddsy’s men five points clear at the top of the table.
Kick-Off:
Following a Tuesday night’s boxing session, Nuneaton Town were ready to rumble after a two week break due to postponements.
Town started the game brightly, pinning Nirvana in their own half, with ‘midfield maestro’ Declan Somel having an effort blocked and curling another just over from outside the box.
The visitors responded by almost catching the Boro out cold, as Lamar Parkes drove into the box on the break, being dispossessed just before he was about to pull the trigger.
It wouldn’t take long for the home side to get back in their stride, getting a huge chance to open the scoring, when James Harrison won a penalty after his attempt was handballed off the line.
The majority of people in the stadium would have bet their house on Town’s talisman Kyle Jardine converting from the spot, so were left shocked when his shot blasted back off the bar, keeping the scores level.
Thankfully for Jardine, Nuneaton would still go into half-time with the lead, as in the 40th minute ‘mister wippy’’ Callum Carsley played a delightful cross to Aaron Williams giving him an easy tap in.
Half-Time: Nuneaton Town 1-0 Leicester Nirvana
Not long after the restart, Carsley would get a taste for an assist yet again, fizzing in perfectly to Charlie Jones, who slotted in under the keeper in the 50th minute.
From then on Boro were cruising, as they took complete control of the game, limiting the visitors to very little time on the ball, nevermind chances.
Midway through the second half, Jardine had two opportunities to add to his scoring charts, but would be denied on both occasions, with Luke McAdam in the opposition goal gathering a free-kick and a header from Town’s goal machine.
Substitute Dante Hesson would seal the deal in the 89th minute, sliding James Harrison’s low ball into the bottom corner of the net, to give the talented youngster his first goal in the league for Boro.
