Nuneaton Town placed in GCE Hire Fleet Ltd United Counties Football League Premier Division South for 2025/26

Following a title-winning campaign in the Midlands Football League Division One, Nuneaton Town FC have officially been promoted to Step 5 and placed in the United Counties Football League Premier South for the 2025/26 season.

The FA’s official league allocations confirm Nuneaton’s next challenge, capping off a remarkable revival both on and off the pitch after a turbulent few years for football in the town.

A New Challenge Awaits

After a successful campaign that led to the Division One title last season, Nuneaton now face a fresh test in one of the most competitive Step 5 divisions in the country. The UCS features a strong mix of well-established teams, fellow promoted sides, Step 4 relegations and some lateral movements from other Step 5 leagues.

The division includes the likes of Coventry United, Hinckley AFC, Atherstone Town, and Daventry Town, setting the stage for some exciting Midlands clashes and potential new rivalries.

Local Derbies to Light Up the Season

Supporters won’t have to wait long for some thrilling derby days. The matchup against Coventry United is set to be a highlight, as the two Warwickshire clubs go head-to-head in what promises to be a fiercely contested fixture.

Hinckley AFC and Lutterworth Town also offer close-range away days with big crowd potential, while fixtures against teams such as Leicester Nirvana and Aylestone Park add further regional spice to the fixture list.

New Faces and League Reshuffle

Nuneaton join a reshaped UCS that includes:

      •     Rugby Town, relegated from Step 4

      •     Atherstone Town have moved laterally from another Step 5 division

      •     Moulton, another promoted club from Step 6

With so many clubs new to the division, the 2025/26 campaign promises to be unpredictable and fiercely contested.
