Town Support the Mayor’s Appeal

Nuneaton Town FC have donated a shirt, signed by the league title winning squad, in support of this year's Mayor's Appeal.

The mayor's appeal is raising vital funds for urgent repairs that are required at Chilvers Coton Heritage Centre in Avenue Road.

The club are committed to supporting our local community and in addition to the shirt donation we have invited the Mayor and Heritage Centre volunteers to our home game against Godmanchester Rovers on Saturday 11th October.

The shirt will be included in a raffle with tickets available to purchase from the Heritage Centre (open Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday's 10am to 1pm), at their Summer Fayre on Saturday 30th August (10.30am to 3pm) and at the Godmanchester Rovers home game on 11th October.

The Heritage Centre is a hidden gem with various displays of local history including the From Town To Town project which charts the history of the football club.

Nuneaton Town FC director Jim Evans said, "We are thrilled to be able to support the mayor's charity and help raise funds for the Heritage Centre, which has done so much to raise awareness of the football club over many years. In addition to the donation of the signed shirt, we will be holding a fundraiser for the Heritage Centre at our home match versus Godmanchester Rovers on 11th October".

Pictured below is From Town to Town volunteer, Kevin Brown, handing over the shirt to Rob Everitt from the Heritage Centre.

Kevin added "the Heritage Centre have kindly given the From Town To Town project and the football club a platform which has done so much to promote the club. I am personally aware of a number of new and lapsed fans that have started to watch the club again after visiting the display. The Centre is ran by a small group of volunteers and is entirely self funding. Now, in their hour of need, I would urge fans to repay their support of our club by donating to the mayor's appeal. The FTTT team will be at the Heritage Centre's summer fayre on Saturday, we look forward to welcoming you and taking a trip down memory lane."
