AARON ARRIVES IN SPORTING SWITCH

Nuneaton Town are delighted to announce that Aaron Roberts has agreed terms with the club.

The 33 year old defender spent last season with Bromsgrove Sporting, and played an important role in keeping the club at Step 3. Aaron also counts Evesham United, Worcester City, Hednesford Town, Alvechurch and Redditch United as his former clubs. 

But it is Sporting that he has made the most appearances for, clocking up over 350, including playing in their first match after the demise of Bromsgrove Rovers. And Nuneaton were quick to snap him up upon his release from the Rouslers. Aaron will therefore provide a wealth of experience in the local non-league scene and will hopefully prove to be an important signing as Town move into Step 4. 

Joint manager Darren Acton said ‘We are delighted to bring Aaron Roberts to the club, as soon as we heard he was leaving Bromsgrove we made him an offer to join us.

Aaron has a lot of experience at higher levels, and we hope that the fans will be as excited as we are to see what he can do. He is a big statement signing and we are very happy to bring him to the club"

Russ added “We are delighted to get the signature of Azza.

I have known him for many years and he has a proven record of playing step 3 football and he is a true winner, who will be a great asset to Nuneaton.

I am sure he will become a fans favourite with his style of play, plus he is a great character.

Speaking about his move to Nuneaton Town, Roberts commented - ‘After another good personal season with Bromsgrove it was a shock to me that I would be leaving the club having been the supporters player of the year. I had some time to think and held lots of conversations with clubs about my next move. Having known Doddsy for 15 or so years he reached out to let me know Nuneaton would be interested in signing me. After meeting with Russ and Acco I felt the club was the best for me to move forward and help push on from the brilliant work achieved over the last couple of seasons. I am very excited for the coming season and look forward to meeting the fan base at such a big non league club! Thank you for having me!'
