Dec the Halls! Somel Stays

Nuneaton Town are pleased to announce that Declan Somel has agreed terms to stay with the club into a third season.

The 25 year old midfielder formerly of Hinckley AFC, has played a big role in the middle of the park, during the club's last 2 seasons, scoring 16 goals in 90 appearances so far. Last season Dec chipped in with 9 goals and 8 assists, including a hattrick against Yaxley, the first man to score a league hattrick since the club's reformation.

Somel earned the nickname 'big game Dec' for his knack for coming up with big performances in crucial games, and he will be looking to continue to push for starting places in what is a competitive midfield.

Speaking about agreeing terms, Dec said “I'm excited for the challenge of Step 4, and after 2 promotions with the club I'm aiming to help give the fans more success over the coming season”.
