Its 3rd v 1st at Bridge Road on Saturday afternoon as Nuneaton Town make the trip down the A14 to Cambridgeshire to play Histon.
The home side will be looking to be the first team to do the double over Nuneaton, having been the only side to have beaten them at the Oval in a game Nuneaton dominated but ended it in a 1-0 defeat, whilst Nuneaton will be looking to avenge that defeat and continue to close in on the title.
Nuneaton had their 10 game league win streak ended by Lutterworth Town on Tuesday in a goalless draw, but extended the unbeaten run to 11 games, their last defeat being that reverse against Histon. They need 3 more goals to hit a second successive century in all competitions.
Histon achieve that 3rd place with 17 wins, 5 draws and 7 defeats from 29 games, and sit 14 points behind Nuneaton from one game more. They are, like Nuneaton, unbeaten in 2026 so far, with 3 wins and a draw since their last defeat just after Christmas. A victory for Nuneaton on Saturday would leave Histon 17 points behind with just 24 available.
Fans will fondly remember the trip to Histon from 20 years ago when Terry Angus (apparently), put the ball into the Histon net in stoppage time to set up the FA Cup 3rd Round clash with then Premier League team Middlesbrough.
Can Nuneaton Town get a date with 3 points on Valentines Day?
