Nuneaton Town are preparing for their 6th preseason friendly as they head down the A5 to face familiar opponents Lutterworth Athletc.

Nuneaton have 4 wins from 5 so far, having beaten Stratford Town, Hinckley, Sutton United and Northampton Sileby Rangers, either side of a narrow loss to AFC Telford United. So the signs are encouraging so far as we prepare for the start of the league season on 11th August.

Lutterworth so far have had a mixed preseason, with a 2-0 win over Bugbrooke St Michael's, a 2-1 loss to Burbage and Huncote, a 2-2 draw with a youthful Coventry United, and a 2-0 win over Irchester United. Lutterworth did notch a win over Nuneaton in preseason last year in a surprise result.

About our opponents:

'The Atho' were formed in 1983 as Lutterworth Juniors and Youth, and formed a senior team in 1993. After spending their early years in the Leicestershire Senior League they reached Step 6 East Midlands Counties League in 2012. They have remained at Step 6 since, switching between the United Counties League, Spartan South Midlands League and the Midland League, where they currently play in Division 1. They swapped grounds with Lutterworth Town, with Town now using the Dunley Way ground in the town centre.

Head out of town on the A47 towards the A5 via The Long Shoot. Take the A5 in the south east direction crossing over the M69 junction and continue through Wibtoft village. Turn left at the 2nd roundabout towards Magna Park/Lutterworth A4303. At the 3rd roundabout turn left onto Brookfield Way, follow the road to the end and turn left onto Bitteswell Road, following onto Bill Crane Way. Turn left at the end of the road onto A426 Leicester Road, heading north out of town, then take the 2nd left onto Hall Lane, and the ground will be on the left.
