Nuneaton Town travel down the M1 for their 5th preseason friendly on Saturday as they take on last season's opponents Northampton Sileby Rangers.
Nuneaton won the United Counties Premier Division South last season and memorably sealed that title triumph with a 3-0 win at the same venue. Our hosts made us feel extremely welcome on that day and so we would ask as many fans as possible to make the journey.
In the last game on Tuesday night, Nuneaton swept aside another Step 5 side in Sutton United 4-1, to bounce back from a narrow defeat last Saturday to AFC Telford United, to continue what has been a positive preseason so far as Nuneaton prepare for life in Step 4. The league fixtures were released yesterday and can be found on our social media or website.
Rangers have had a solid preseason themselves so far winning 3-2 against Newport Pagnell Town and 3-0 against Rushden & Higham United.

About our opponents:
Originally formed as Sileby Rangers in 1968, named after village of Sileby near Leicester, which the Sileby Engineering Company was originally established in, before moving to Northampton. They are 4 times champions of the United Counties League Division 1, and won promotion to the Premier South after a shift to the Spartan South Midlands League Division 1, which they finished 2nd in in 2023-24. This season will be their 3rd in Step 5, their 8th in total.
