Its champions against champions in one final game on Saturday afternoon as the newly crowned title winners of the United Counties Premier Division North, Boston Town, travel to The Oval to face the winners of the United Counties Premier Division South, Nuneaton Town.

With Nuneaton having sealed the title with more points than their opponents, they're given the home advantage looking to add a second trophy in 7 days to their growing collection. Despite some struggles in recent weeks, they dug deep to get the victory they needed over Northampton Sileby Rangers to get over the line, and win promotion to Step 4 for next season.

Boston Town in contrast found their form at just the right time to steal the title from long time leaders Sherwood Colliery with a run of 9 straight victories, the last of those a 6-0 win over Hucknall Town on the final day finishing the job. So they are expected to be a tough test for the home side as they look to make it 10.

Matthew Cotton is their danger man, with 33 goals in 45 appearances this season, which put him second in the league standings for goals scored. Kyle Jardine is one away from a 40 goal season for Nuneaton Town, the deadly finisher has had a great first season with the club after his move from Heather St John's.

The match will also mark Russell Dodds and Darren Acton's 100th game in charge of the club, and the 100th Nuneaton Town match since reforming. Having won 2 league titles, won 73 games, and scored 257 goals in the 99 games so far, it hasn't been a bad return for the managers and their team!

Can Nuneaton see off the season with one final win? Get down to The Oval this Saturday and welcome your back to back league champions!

Our opponents:

Boston Town FC, known as The Poachers, started life in 1964 as Boston FC, by former officials of Boston United, concerned at financial issues at the club. They were Lincolnshire League champions in their first season, and were 3 times winners of the Midland League between 1975 and 1981. 2025-26 is their 3rd United Counties Premier Division title, winning it in 1994-95 and 2000-01 before it split into a North and South division.

They have reached the first round of the FA Cup once, losing 3-1 at Barnsley in 1976-77, but reached the semi finals of the FA Vase in 1993-94, losing to Taunton Town 2-0 on aggregate. Their record attendance is 2,700, set in an FA Cup derby with Boston United in 1970.

They have played at Tattershall Road, now known as the Mortgages For You Stadium, since formation, and recently secured ownership of the ground, securing the future of the club for the foreseeable.
