Nuneaton Town Secure Attacking Talent Luke Jones

Nuneaton Town are delighted to announce attacking midfielder and winger Luke Jones has joined the club from league rivals Hinckley AFC.

Born on 3rd January 2000, Jones brings both experience and versatility to the Boro’s attacking options. Having begun his footballing journey with the Strachan Football Foundation, where he first worked under former Hinckley AFC Joint Manager Joe Conneely, he went on to gain senior experience with Coventry United in 2018/19 and later Rugby Borough.

Jones then made the leap across the Atlantic, representing several sides in the United States, including Indiana Tech, Fort Wayne, and most recently, Texas-based Lubbock Matadors, competing in the fourth tier of American soccer.

Luke started all three games for the Lubbock Matadors in the US Open Cup in 2024. They were knocked out by New Mexico United.

After returning to the UK earlier this year, he signed for Hinckley in July 2024, where he quickly became a key figure. His debut campaign back in English football was a memorable one. Featuring 37 times across all competitions, Jones netted nine goals. His knack for producing big moments stood out, most notably his stunning last-minute free-kick against Yaxley, which salvaged a dramatic point in the first game of 2025.

Nuneaton Town FC would like to place on record our thanks to Hinckley AFC for their help and co-operation with this move.

Welcome to the Town Luke!
